About Shore Baptist Church

A Brief History

Shore Baptist Church is part of the Fellowship of Reformed Baptist Churches in New Zealand. Our church was established in 1984 and is a gathering of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who live to know Him and make Him known. In all we do, we seek to bring honour and glory to Jesus Christ by keeping His Word—the Bible—at the centre of our worship.

Our first church service was held on 26 February 1984 at Westlake Girls High School. A year later, the church was formally constituted under the name North Shore Baptist Reformed Church as a church plant from Emmanuel Church in Mt Eden. In 2008, we became known as Shore Baptist Church.

Our first pastor, Stephen Turner, served faithfully until 2013, when Andre Bay assumed the role of pastor. In December 2017, we moved to our current meeting place at Westminster Christian School.

We praise God for the church plants of Shore Baptist Church: West Church in 2018, and Hibiscus Bible Church in 2025.

We hope you’ll join us, and we pray that you will see and experience the amazing love, grace, and majesty of the Lord Jesus Christ, whom we worship.
