Meet Our Elders & Deacons

André was appointed pastor of Shore Baptist Church in November 2013. He studied at the London Theological Seminary and has served as a missionary, church planter, and pastor in Russia, South Africa, and Germany since 1993.

André carries out most of the preaching and pastoral ministry at Shore Baptist and is deeply committed to expository preaching – teaching through entire books of the Bible.

Originally from South Africa, André is married to Masha, who was born in Russia. Together they have three children: Stephen, Daniel, and Anya.

Fred has been part of Shore Baptist Church since 1988 and has served as an elder since 1999. Of Tongan and German heritage, he grew up on Auckland’s North Shore.

Fred holds a Bachelor of Laws (1979) and initially worked as a Solicitor. He later served in the New Zealand Defence Force before joining a family-owned importing business, where he continues to work.

He is married to Suzi, and together they are the grateful parents of Kruger, Maike, Freya, Vanja, and Seini.

Aaron is an architectural designer and builder. He and his wife, Nancy, have both worshipped at Shore Baptist Church since childhood and have been actively involved in many areas of church life.

Aaron served as a deacon before being appointed as an elder in December 2015. Nancy serves faithfully as the church Treasurer.

They have been richly blessed with nine children: Ashton, Hunter, Cooper, Tayla, Maia, Marlon, Lienna, Zane and Olivia.

After 52 years in the structural Glulam industry, Owen is now retired. He and his wife, Kathleen, have two grown-up daughters and have been members of Shore Baptist Church since 2019.

Since the 1970s, Owen has been actively involved in the development of the Reformed Baptist fellowship of churches, serving in various capacities. He was appointed to the eldership at Shore Baptist in 2022.

Daniel is an engineer by trade. He and his wife, Poonam, have two children: Caleb and Elizabeth. Daniel has been blessed to be part of the Shore Baptist Church family since 2002.

He is committed to serving God through serving people and was appointed to the eldership at Shore Baptist in 2023.

Jeff has been a member of Shore Baptist Church for over 20 years. He is married to Annette, and they live in Glenfield.

Jeff works for OMF New Zealand, seconded to Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship (TSCF), serving international students at Massey University, Albany. He previously served with OMF in China and Taiwan for several years and now primarily ministers to Chinese students here in New Zealand.

Annette works as a community occupational therapist at North Shore Hospital and volunteers part-time as an associate staff worker with TSCF, assisting Jeff in ministry to international students.

She enjoys the privilege of journeying with others and helping in practical ways. Annette has been a member of Shore Baptist Church since 2002.

Andrew is married to Susan, has two grown-up children, and lives in Glenfield. He has over 30 years of experience in IT and currently works part-time as a consulting project manager and CAD specialist.

Andrew has been involved with Shore Baptist since 1984 and became a formal member in 1991. He served as treasurer for 10 years, has contributed in Sunday School, Youth ministry, and various committees, and currently leads a Care Group in his home.

Susan is married to Andrew and has been a member of Shore Baptist since 1991. She works as the Learning Support Coordinator at Henderson Intermediate.

For many years, Susan has served by organising church morning teas and catering special events, including church camps and conferences.

Her home has warmly welcomed Youth, Care Groups, and women’s events. Susan led and taught Sunday School for nearly ten years and, alongside Andrew, has helped lead Beach Mission teams for over 15 years.

Charles has attended Shore Baptist Church since 2015 and serves alongside other men and women in the Deacon Ministry. He is married to Anne, and together they have four daughters: Toni, Madison, Jordan, and Shannon.

Karel grew up in South Africa and immigrated to New Zealand in 2019. He is married to Esther, and they have two children, Talitha and Ezra.

Karel has worked as a Quantity Surveyor since 2009. Since arriving in New Zealand, he has been attending Shore Baptist Church and became a member in 2020. He currently leads a Care Group in Silverdale and was appointed to the Diaconate in 2022.

Jeremiah is married to Andrea, and they have two sons, Asher and John. He and his family have been attending Shore Baptist Church since 2017.

Jeremiah is a civil engineer by trade. He serves in the music ministry and also leads a Care Group. He was appointed to the Diaconate in 2022.

Livingstone married Rachael in 2012, and together they have one daughter, Tiare. They live in Beach Haven, North Shore. He and his family have been attending Shore Baptist Church since October 2021 and became members in July 2022.

They feel wonderfully blessed to serve the Church of Christ with joy.

Coline has attended Shore Baptist Church since 2017, and has served as the church secretary since 2018. She is married to Ben and have two children.

Nancy and her husband Aaron have both worshipped at Shore Baptist since they were children and have been active in many different areas of church life. Aaron served as a deacon before accepting the call to Eldership in December 2015, and Nancy serves as the church Treasurer.
