FAQs
Where are you located?
Shore Baptist Church meets in the school hall at Westminster Christian School, located at 31 Westminster Gardens, Unsworth Heights, Auckland.
What time are your services?
Our services are held at 10am every Sunday. We also have evening services every second and fourth Sunday of the month at 5pm.
Is there something for my kids?
Our children (toddler – 12 years) meet before our morning service, at 9.15am, for Sunday School. They sing, have shared catechism instruction, and then break into age-based groups for Bible study.
We don’t believe that children and parents should be separated during our corporate worship on a Sunday; so we encourage children and their parents to join in the service. We do make allowance for the use the Staff Room at the back at times when parents need to take their kids out to calm them down, or attend to something that can’t be attended to quietly in the pews.
It is important that children should observe their parents and other believers as they worship Christ on the Lord’s Day. They need to see the tears, the joy, our closed eyes, our frowns and hear our voices as we sing and us whispering “Amen” as we worship. We want them to observe and participate with us in praying together to God through His Son Jesus Christ, us singing God’s praises as a congregation and also learning how to reverently listen to the Word of God read and preached to us.
What does a typical service look like?
Our Sunday service is usually 90 minutes where we start with sung worship, followed by prayer, Bible reading and the preaching of God’s Word, usually led by Pastor André Bay.
After the worship service, we enjoy morning tea together. If you’re new to Shore Baptist Church, this is a great opportunity to get to know the members of the church, and ask any questions you have. Our hope is that you will know the love of Christ, feel valued, at home, and welcomed at Shore Baptist Church.
Do you offer activities outside of Sunday services?
We love to gather with the church family throughout the week. Our smaller groups that meet for Bible study, prayer and fellowship are called Care Groups. We meet in church members’ homes and there are many times and locations available.
You can find a list of all our ministries below.
Our Ministries

Care Groups
Our Care Groups play a very important role in the ongoing priestly ministry of our church, where we care for one another by studying God’s Word and praying for various needs within the church. Great friendships are built, and many good dinners are shared to encourage the fellowship we have in Jesus Christ.
Care Groups meet during the week in various homes. You can find a list of Care Groups in our weekly emailed newsletter. If you’re interested in joining one, please contact one of our Elders.
Throughout the week

Open Home
We have Open Homes every first Sunday of the month for those who are new or newish to the church. A church member opens their home for a shared lunch and time of fellowship. Open Homes are a wonderful opportunity for us to welcome you and get to know you over a meal.
If you’re new to the church, please do come along – we’d love to meet you!
Every first Sunday of the month

Seasoned Saints
Our Seasoned Saints gatherings take place a few times a year, providing an opportunity for the older members of our congregation to connect and enjoy fellowship together.
If you’d like to join, please contact Owen Griffiths.
Throughout the year

Sunday School
Our children (4 to 13 years) meet during the school term before our morning service at 9:15 AM for Sunday School. They begin with a time of singing, a memory verse, and a catechism question and answer, before breaking into age-based groups for Bible study.
If you’d like more information, feel free to contact Aaron Falconer.
Every Sunday during the school term

ALIVE Youth
Our youth (13 to 18 years) meet on most Saturdays for fellowship and Bible study. There are also regular social events and an annual youth camp.

Mums & Tots
